About Scepticist.com

My name is David Dailey, and I’m the fastest man alive (but only when it comes to churning out quality articles).

Please don’t mind that David Dailey doesn’t rhyme with Barry Allen. You can blame that on my parents, not on me.

Anyway, welcome to my blog!

A little about me: I’m an outdoor and wilderness enthusiast, seasoned cycler, experienced hiker, enthusiastic camper, and a few other things that I don’t feel like stating right now. Yep, I’m basically a jack of all trades, master of a couple.

Now, you might be wondering, what is Sherling Lake?

Sherling Lake is where I spent years of my childhood as well as young adulthood camping and exploring the great outdoors and the charms you can find outside.

Sherling Lake is a place for you to get away from it all. It’s absolutely beautiful.

It’s one of Alabama’s most beautiful campgrounds and is immaculately kept. All of the seasonal splendor that you can imagine in the heart of Alabama, is on display at Sherling Lake, including all the spectacular Fall colors, beautiful dogwoods, magnolias, and azaleas.

The park is only two hours north of the white sand of the beautiful beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. The terrain that surrounds Sherling Lake will remind you of the mountains.

There, you can walk our nature trails, pitch a tent or park an RV, catch a bass in our two lakes, or play golf just round the corner at Cambrian Ridge, part of the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail.

Longtime Park Manager Phillip Herring used to say, “We’re basically a family campground, a woodsy place with two lakes. It’s very clean and inviting, safe, and quiet.”

So, why have I created SherlingLake.com?

Well, for instance, as I mentioned above (don’t tell me you haven’t been paying attention?), I love writing about things that I like, and, for me, the outdoors are my safe haven.

I chose Sherling Lake as the name of my blog because, for me, it’s associated with plenty of precious memories.

SherlingLake.com will be some kind of a journal for me. A place where I can share knowledge and useful guides, recommend products that I like rant, joke, voice my opinion, etc. So even if I end up with no readers whatsoever, I don’t mind. At least, in a few years, I’ll be able to look back and see how far I’ve come through the years.

Although you should expect nothing but quality content on my blog, be warned as I may use some strong language here and there.

Why?

Because I write as I speak. I’m not writing articles to be peer-reviewed, I’m writing them for my followers (if any), who are normal people (just like me!).
